Youth Isolation and Loneliness Training
An online workshop as part of Belong Collective, in partnership with Youth Focus North East and UK Youth.
Belong is an online awareness training session for professionals and volunteers who work with young people in England. The aim of the training is to increase your knowledge and confidence in how to tackle youth loneliness and isolation as Loneliness among young people is a growing and urgent issue.
Young people are more affected by loneliness than any other age group. Loneliness can have immediate impacts on young people’s physical and mental health, wellbeing, and educational outcomes, and long-term consequences for relationships, employability, and life satisfaction.
With that being said, this training has been co-produced through consultations with young people, to ensure their voices and messages have been heard thoroughly throughout the training session.
Session Aims:
– Explore the causes and consequences of youth isolation and loneliness,
– To recognise the assumptions people may make,
– Understand how to involve young people in conversations and activities, and identify resources to support this.
The sessions will be held online via Zoom, with joining links sent before the training.
