DCMS Launch ‘Connections Through Gaming’ Pilot
DCMS has launched a competition to select one or more ambitious delivery partners with experience of engaging and supporting young people, for the Connections Through Gaming pilot.
The pilot will test whether gaming-based approaches can help boys aged 11-16 who may be experiencing loneliness, isolation or social withdrawal to build confidence, strengthen social connections and improve wellbeing. The programme will combine structured, in-person activities, trusted adult support and a secure, moderated online offer.
We are looking to attract applications from a range of organisation types, including VCSE sector organisations, Community Interest Companies (CICs), local authorities, schools, and multi-academy trusts (MATs). This could include libraries, youth organisations, community organisations, and organisations responsible for the governance and operation of schools.
The successful delivery partner(s) will be responsible for delivering up to £648,000 fund over the three-year pilot.
Applications are now open via Find a Grant and will close on 11 September 2026. Full competition guidance and the application form can be found here.
DCMS will hold an information webinar on Tuesday 18 August, from 11.30am to 12.30pm, via Microsoft Teams. If you would like to attend, please contact loneliness@dcms.gov.uk
The session will provide an overview of the competition and guidance, as well as an opportunity to ask any questions.
We would be grateful if you could share this opportunity with any organisations that may be interested in applying.
