Overview of the research

This study addresses a long-standing gap that has hindered progress in research, policy and practice to address the global public health issue of loneliness: the absence of a comprehensive, unified, conceptualisation of loneliness, and consequently, the lack of a clear and precise theoretical definition of loneliness.
