This webinar is led by Professor Irene Hardill of Northumbria University who will be talking about her lifetime’s research into volunteering. Prof. Irene will use personal stories of volunteers and how volunteering had made a difference, filling emotional gaps and overcoming loneliness. This will be complemented by a presentation from Andrea Errington, Public Engagement and Volunteering Officer for Sunderland Libraries and Culture House. Andrea will speak about her involvement in the Know Your Neighbourhood Libraries project which has involved engaging with volunteers to reduce loneliness through local libraries.
