Addressing loneliness among young people at school – webinar 2
Webinar 2 – in a series of events on this subject
There is currently much concern about high levels of loneliness among young people. In this webinar series, we focus on experiences of loneliness at school, a main context for children and young people’s lives. During the school years, severe loneliness can have a negative impact on young people’s educational engagement and attainment, as well as their mental and physical health. This series is intended to bring together educationalists and others working with children and young people, and to encourage reflection, discussion and action on what can and should be done to address loneliness in schools.
In the second event of this series, you will hear from The Marmalade Trust about their work on addressing loneliness in schools – including a recent project with primary schools; from Daniela O’Neill about her Board Game Buddies project and how this has sparked social connection among children in Canada; and from Only7Seconds about their Connection Curriculum and Clubs from the USA which they have been developing to address loneliness across school age groups.
We are delighted that Dr Caron Carter will be joining us to chair these events.
This event is for school leaders and staff, professionals working with schools or supporting efforts to address loneliness among young people, and anyone with an interest in loneliness at school.
