Date: 23rd October, 2024

Event Description
The film and television industries are at the forefront of the casualisation of labour, with a predominantly freelance workforce that are typically engaged on short-term projects, with limited access to HR and other support.

The workforce is also characterised by levels of poor mental health which Mind has described as being of epidemic proportions, with research conducted by the Film and TV Charity establishing that the factor with the biggest influence of the mental health of this workforce is loneliness.

Chaired by the hub’s, Prof. Andrea Wigfield featuring guest speakers:

Rupert Jones-Lee and Lucy Maxwell from the Film and TV Charity
Anna Topakas from the University of Sheffield
